Lyrics
I’m Not Going Back
© Greg Alexander / Second Generation Music / BMI
The light of Eventide still dispels the darkness
Truth burns within the hearts of those who have seen the light
This daily walk through Canaanland is marked with great adventure
But I press on in victory; Heaven’s gates are just in sight
I’m not going back to Babylon, I came out to stay
I now live in truth and freedom in this gospel day
I’ll not hang my harp on any tree; I’ll keep singing Zion’s song
I’m not going back to Babylon, my next stop is home.
A clarion call still echoes through the kingdom like a trumpet
And those of us who’ve seen the church to Babel will not bow
There’s nothing here to hold me I’ve got my sights on heaven
As I press on through this journey I’m reigning here and now
There’s a line that’s been drawn in the sand, who will take their stand…….
Are you going back to Babylon, or will you stay in Canaanland
